Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 2,000 kilograms of jatka (immature hilsa) from Bekutia Ferry Ghat in Kawkhali upazila of Pirojpur district early Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, a coast guard team, led by the coast guard Kawkhali contingent commander Nawsher Ali, raided the ghat area and seized the jatka.
Later, the seized fish were distributed among poor people and orphanages in the upazila.
