A case has been filed against 150 to 200 unnamed people for vandalising an ambulance during the clash between the Dhaka College students and the New Market traders-employees.
Sumon Ahmed, owners of the ambulance, filed the case. Officer-in-charge (OC) of New Market Police Station SM Kayum, confirmed this to The New Nation on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a total of five cases have been filed for the clashes. Two of them were filed by police and two murder cases by the family members of the two victims killed in the clashes.
With this, more than 1,700 unidentified people were made accused in these cases.
The two murder cases are being investigated by the Detective Branch (DB) of Police and the other three by the New Market Police. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and other law enforcers agency are also conducting shadow investigation.
During the clash on April 19, miscreants vandalised two ambulances. One was heading for Dhaka Medical College Hospital with a patient from Anwar Khan Modern Hospital.
Witness and source said that the traders and employees of New Market were staying at the Nilkhet intersection that day. Around 1.00 am when the ambulance came to Nilkhet intersection, 50-60 people started vandalizing the ambulance.
