About two hundred illegal shops and establishments constructed on both sides of Chandpur-Cumilla Regional Highway were demolished and evicted on Thursday in Chandpur Sadar area.
Contacted, Executive Engineer of Chandpur Roads & Highways Md Atiqullah Bhuiyan has told this correspondent that 200 illegal structures and shops were bulldozed and evicted during the eviction drive that started from morning till dusk from Wireless More up to Baburhat area under Sadar Upazila. Due to civil cases pending with court, some structures could not be demolished- he added.
