As many as 200 banana plants planted in a plot belonging to one Rustam Ali Hawladar of village Purbo Chandipur within Chingrakhali Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district were uprooted by a number of miscreants out of previous enmity with him in a broad daylight on Tuesday, according to a delayed report received here. In this connection a GD was lodged with Morrelganj PS by the victim mentioning the names of 12 persons on Wednesday.
It is stated in the GD that 2 months ago the victim Rustam Ali planted two hundred banana plants and some other fruit-plants on a plot of land of 47.25 decimals purchased by him earlier. But on Tuesday out of previous enmity with him (victim) a number of miscreants entered the plot of land forcefully, uprooted the banana and other plants and demolished his cowshed constructed on the same plot of land. As a result, the victim incurred a loss of Tk.1.25 lakh.
Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told, a complaint was received and legal action will be taken after investigating in the matter.
