20 shops, houses evicted from government land in Gazipur

Illegal establishments have been evicted from government land of Forest Department at Rajendrapur in Gazipur. Forest Department and Road Department Officials evicted 20 shops in front of the Range Officer of Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at Rajendrapur crossroads. The rescue operation was conducted on Friday morning.
The expedition was led by Md. Masud Rana, Bhawal Range Officer, Department of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation.
 But the land was occupied for a long time with the help of influential people of the area. The occupiers were given several notices by the Road Department and Forest Department to vacate the land but they did not response.
Eventually, officials from the Forest Department and Roads Department launched an operation to evict illegal settlements from government land.
Emdadul Haque Emdad, Sub-Assistant Engineer, Road Department, Gazipur, Md. Masud Rana, Bhawal Range Officer, Department of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation, Md. Hossain and other officials of the Forest Department were present during the drive.
