Supporting UN’s call regarding Bangladesh’s recent violent political crises, BNP led 20-party alliance on Saturday said, “We have full support with the statement of the United Nations.”
20-party alliance came up with the reaction in a statement sent to the media, signed by BNP Vice-Chairman Selima Rahman, this afternoon.
Earlier on Friday, pointing to recent violent political situations, the United Nations Human Rights Commission urged all political parties in Bangladesh for immediate end of violence across the country.
“Make an effective and impartial investigation into
all killings across Bangladesh,” the body also urged the authorities concerned in the country. The statement also added, “The incumbent Awami League government should also ensure that all measures taken to restore law and order are conducted in line with the international human rights law.”
The body said that they were concerned about violent activities in the country, which has already led to deaths of many people.
On January 5, 2015, the BNP-led 20 party alliance called their indefinite blockade programme of rail, road and waterways after failing to observe the first anniversary of the 10th national elections as the ‘Murder of Democracy Day’.
