Two groups of ruling Awami League (AL) clashes over giving flowers at Shaheed Minar on Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day in Pakundia Upazila of Kishoreganj on Monday . At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups. The incident took place at the Pakundiya Government College premises on Monday morning.
Adv Sohrab Uddin, a former member of parliament from Pakundia-Katiadi constituency and convener of Pakundia upazila Awami League, alleged that party leaders and activists led by him went to the Shaheed Minar on the college premises around 10 am for floral wreath. At that time, the supporters of the incumbent Nur Mohammad MP launched a surprise attack on them by giving them flowers. Later, there were chases and clashes between the two sides.
