20 DU meritorious students get prizes

A total of 15 meritorious students of the Department of Botany of the Dhaka University (DU) awarded prizes for their outstanding academic results in various examinations.
Besides, five students of the same department received prizes for their excellent performances in extra-curricular activities.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed prizes among the students as the chief guest at a freshers’ reception and farewell program of the Department of Botany at its auditorium.
Chairman of the Department of Botany Prof. Dr. Moniruzzaman Khondker presided over the function while Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin and Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. M. Imdadul Haque spoke on the occasion as special guests.
DU VC Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the students to make themselves as complete human being using their merits properly.
The prize recipients are Mahin Mohid, Nasima Akhter, Fateeha Noor, Israt Jahan Bonna, Md. Ibrahim Khalil, Chandan Kumar Dash, Md. Hasan Shaikh , Sumiya Tabassum, Sumaiya Jannat, Masnun Homaira Maisha, among others.
 Asif Ahmed Sami, Nur-E-Hafsa, Puja Pushpa Ghosh, Omar Faruq, Md. Onix Rahman, Md. Rokon-Uz-Zaman Khokon, Md. Atiq Mahbub and Marjana Chowdhury.
Besides, Israt Jahan Bonna has been awarded “Amena Meher Memorial Award” and Badrun Nahar has received “National Professor A K M Nurul Islam Memorial Prize” respectively.
