Two workers drowned as a sand-laden boat capsized in the Dhalai River in Companiganj upazila in Sylhet district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Nayeed Hossain, 18, son of Abu Taher of Vatertek village of Bishwambarpur village and Jamir Hossain, 15, Abu Shyama.
Hasanur Rahman Abir, son of Motiur Rahman, of Chowkidekhi area of Sylhet went missing. He was a student of Civil Engineering Department at Leading University in Sylhet.
“Divers are working in search of Hasanur Rahman Abir,” said, Md. Tajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Companiganj police station.
The boat sank at night due to heavy load. Two workers-Nayeem and Jamir were asleep.
