2 women held with 40 gold bars at HSIA

Customs Intelligence officials detained two women and recovered 40 gold bars, weighing 4.60 kilograms worth around Tk 2.40 crore from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday morning.
The arrested women are: Jasmine Akhter and Pervin Akhter, Customs official said.
Enamul Haque, Assistant Revenue Officer of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID), said “Jesmine and Pevin arrived at the Shah Amanat International Airport in
 Chittagong from Muscot and then flew to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a domestic flight around 9:00am. Acting on a tip-off, the intelligence officials challenged the two women. After searching their bodies, the intelligence officials recovered the gold bars.”
“The arrested women are being interrogated in this connection,” the Customs official said.
A case was filed with the airport police station.
