Two women were killed in electrocution in the city in separate incidents yesterday morning. Sources said one garment worker was electrocuted on her way to work place in BSCIC industrial area at Kalurghat under Chandgaon thana in the city yesterday morning.
The victim identified as Nurunnahar Begum,20, wife of Omar Faruk Saiful, hailed from Chansmia Munshi Lane of Chawkbazar thana in the city. She was working for Well Group.
Abdul Aziz, officer- in -Charge of Chawkbazar thana said Nurunnahar was electrocuted when she stepped into a puddle of rainwater beside an electric pole on the street at 7 am.
Locals took her to Chittagong Medical College Hospital at 9 am but the attending doctors declared her dead.
Meanwhile one housewife named Minara Begum(25) was electrocuted at her residence in Shershah Banglabazar area under Baizid thana in city yesterday morning .
The deceased is the wife of one Md. Jahangir and resident of Didar Colony of Shershah.
Officer- In-Charge of Baizid thana told that he was electrocuted with wire of electric oven and the locals rushed her to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the attending physicians declared her dead.
Separate UD cases have been lodged with the concerned police station , sources said.
