2 traders arrested with drugs in Singair

Detective Branch (DB) Police arrested two traders with drugs worth half a lakh taka from Alinagar area of Singair Upazila in Manikganj. The arrested are Hameda Begum (29) and her accomplice Jasim Uddin (32).
This information was confirmed through a press release from the Manikganj District Police Superintendent’s office on Monday.
Hameda Begum is the wife of Monnaf Hossain of Garadia village of Singair upazila and son of Abdul Khalek of Mitra village of Sadar upazila Jasim Uddin.
District Intelligence Branch (DB) in-charge Mohammad Mosharf Hossain said that Hameda Begum had been dealing in drugs for a long time. He was also arrested by the police once with drugs. Hameda Begum’s house was raided on Sunday midnight based on secret information.
At that time, 505 grams of heroin with an estimated value of 50 lakh taka and 3 thousand taka in cash were seized from his house.
Apart from this, Jasim Uddin was arrested for his involvement. A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act at Singair police station.
