2 testified in BUET student Abrar murder case

Two students testified yesterday in the case filed over the murder of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad in October last year.
Judge Abu Zafar Md Kamruzzaman of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka recorded the depositions of the students. They are-Ahnaf Anserli and Mohammad Galib. The witnessed the incident directly.
They went to room No. 1011 during the incident and saw that the accused
were beating Fahad. Of the 60 prosecution witnesses, 22 testified so far. However, the cross-examination of Galib is yet to be completed.
Earlier on October 5, Md Barkat Ullah, father of the victim and also the complainant of the case, testified in the case while the defence lawyers cross-examined him.
The tribunal on September 15 framed charges against all 25 accused of the case.
Abrar, a second-year student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of BUET, died after he was brutally beaten allegedly by some Chhatra League men at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university in the early hours of October 7, 2019.
Later, his father Barkatullah, filed the case with Chawkbazar Police Station against 19 BCL leaders of BUET unit.
On November 13, last year, detectives submitted a 105-page charge-sheet against 25 BUET students in the murder case.
