Police on Friday detained two students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) for carrying out unlawful activities on the campus ahead of the first year admission tests to be held on Saturday.
The detainees are Tanjil Ahmed, final year student of Food Engineering department and Ilias Hossain, a third-year student of Anthropology department of the university. Members of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) SUST unit claimed they found concrete proof that the duowereinvolved in spreading rumours about the university’s Shah Poran Hall on their respective Facebook accounts.
Later, they handed those to Jalalabad Police Station in presence of admission test disciplinary committee chief Prof Rashed Talukdar around 10:30 pm, said Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.
