UNB, Mymensingh :
Two students of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) were killed in a road accident at an intersection of the University and Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Trishal area of the district on Monday evening.
The deceased were identified as Abdullah Al-Mamun, a first year student of Computer science department and Mahfujur Rahman Asif, a 3rd year
student of the same department of the university.
Police said the accident took place when a bus hit them while they were going to Trishal by motorcycle from the university leaving Mamun dead on the spot and Asif critically injured.
Asif died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.
Officer-in-charge of Trishal Police Station Moniruzzaman, confirming the incident, said the bus was seized but the driver managed to flee the scene.
