Staff Reporter :Two youths were stabbed to death and another teenage girl seriously injured by the unidentified miscreants in broad day light at Gabtali in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila on Saturday afternoon.The deceased have been identified as Jayedul, 25, and Joy, 18, while the injured girl is Mitu Begum, 16, daughter of Jojmia of Raipura Upazila in the district, police said.Golam Mostafa, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station, said, “Getting an assurance of a job, Mitu Begum went to Jayedul’s home at Gabtali, and they passed the night in the house of Jayedul’s aunt. When Jayedul, his friend Joy and Mitu Begum were talking at a garden adjacent to Gabtali Graveyard at 3:00pm, a gang of 10 to 12 miscreants carried out attacks on them.”As the victims were indiscriminately stabbed, Jayedul died on the spot while Joy died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). In the incident, seriously injured Mitu was admitted to Narsingdi District Hospital. Police recovered the body of Jayedul from the spot, and sent it to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the police official said.The reason behind the incident could not be known immediately, the OC said. “We are hunting for the killers,” he said.
