2 smugglers were arrested along with a skin of Royal Bengal tiger of Sundarbans from Katakhali Bazar area under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district by a contingent of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 at Saturday night. The arrested persons are Md. Azizur Rahman (45), son of one late Koresh Mahnud of village Kanchanpur under Dumuria Upazila in Khulna district and Md. Sayeed Khan (35), son of one Jamal Khan of Grameen residential area under Sonadanga PS in Khulna City Corporation. In this connection a case was lodged with Fakirhat Model PS under the Act of Smuggling of wild animals on Sunday morning and the smugglers amd the seized skin were handed over to the PS.
It is learnt from a press bulletin issued by Colonel Muammad Mostak Ahmed, Commander (CEO) of RAB-6 Kulna on Sunday afternoon. The Commander told, acting on secret information (through the detective branch) that selling and buying of skin of Royal Bengal tiger of Sundarbans is going on at Katakhali Bazar area a contingent of RAB raided the area at the night of Saturday.
