Three children, including two siblings, drowned in a pond at Belodi village in Rupganj upazila on Wednesday.
Khairul Islam, sub-inspector of Rupganj Police Station, said Habiba, 10, daughter of Hafizuddin, Maksuda, 9, and Maria, 9, daughters of Mashikur Rahman, drowned in a pond near the house of one Majibur Rahman while taking bath at noon.
All of them were class three students of a local primary school and residents of the village, said the SI.
The bodies of the trio were found floating in the pond around 6 pm.
