Two classmates of Kandania village of Kapasia Sadar Union in Gazipur were killed in a head-on collision of buses at ACI Gate area of Rajabari on Dhaka Road on Wednesday morning. Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, Tariqul Islam, 18, son of Aliullah of the village and Mehedi Hasan, 19, son of Abdul Haque were killed in an accident. A heartbreaking scene unfolded at the janaza prayers of two neighbors with the participation of a large number of worshipers at the local Bepari Bari Mosque ground.
It was learned that a family function was held at the house of farmer Abdul Haque of Madhyapara in Kandania village of the upazila on Tuesday. As his daughter lives in Rajendrapur area due to his job, his son Mehedi was taking food for him on a motorcycle.
On the way, their motorcycle collided head-on with a reckless bus of the Kapasia-bound Rajduth-Pather Sathi transport. Tariqul Islam died on the spot and Mehedi Hasan died on the way to the hospital. The bus driver fled after the incident.
The two friends are 10th class students of the local Baron High School. The motorcycle involved in the accident is said to belong to Mehedi Hasan’s elder brother Ibrahim. Niece of late Mehedi Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Sakhawat Hossain Pradhan.
Sreepur Police Station SI Mahbub Hasan has admitted the truth of the incident. It is learned that the body was buried without autopsy or any legal action as per the demand of the family.
