Humayun Kabir Nirob alias RJ Nirob, Head of sales (Communications and Public Relations) of E-commerce platform ‘Qcoom’ and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ripon Mia were put on remand afresh yesterday.
Metropolitan Magis-trate Masud Ur Rahman the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka placed RJ Nirob on one day remand while Ripon Mia on two days’ in a case filed with the Lalbag Police Station of the city under the Digital Security Act on Monday.
Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station police arrested Nirob from Nobodoy Housing of Mohammad-pur on October 8. He was shown arrested in a fraudulence case filed by a customer on October 7. Later, he was placed on remand for a day.
Meanwhile, on October 3, the Detective Branch of police arrested Qcoom CEO Ripon Mia from Dhanmondi area and later he was put on a two-day remand.
Ripon is accused in a fraudulence case and another case filed under the Digital Security Act with Paltan Police Station.
Qcoom was founded in 2019. There are allegations that Qcoom deceived customers, through advertising to sell products at lower price than the market price.
According to police, Qcoom would sell around 100,000 products online.
