Two primary school girls were reportedly raped by their relatives in Dhaka and Madaripur districts on Monday evening.
Of them, one is a student Class-I at Savar’s Radio Colony and the other is a student of Class-V at Uttar Mohisher Char in Madaripur Sadar upazila. They are now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and Faridpur Medical College and Hospital respectively.
The rapists have been identified as Budu, 23, and Miraj Matubbor, 29, Police said.
Quoting the relatives, Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Kamaruzzaman said that the victim’s cousin reportedly raped her in a lemon orchard at Kawalipara under Dhamrai upazila after abducting from Radio Colony in Savar upazila of Dhaka district.
Locals nabbed the rapist Budu and took him to the police, the OC said.
We are investigating the incident, the police official said.
The victim is undergoing treatment at One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) of the DMCH as her condition deteriorated due to profuse bleeding, said Dr Israt Jahan Umman, Medical Officer of the hospital.
In Madaripur, Miraj allegedly raped his cousin sister on Monday night at Uttar Mohisher Char under the Sadar upazila, said Additional Superintendent of Police Suman Dev.
According to the family sources, the girl came to Madaripur from Gopalganj to visit her sister’s house three days ago. On Monday night, her brother-in-law Miraj Matubbor took her for a walk.
After visiting few places, Miraj took her to a dark and desolate place and deflowered her, the sources added.
Her family members rushed her to Madaripur Sadar Hospital.The girl was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital around 1 am as her condition deteriorated, said Sadar Hospital’s Resident Medical Officer Dr Shashanko Chandra Ghosh.
