In separate incidents, two clerics of Christian Churches in Sylhet district received death threats from an unregistered number on their mobile phones on Tuesday night.
They were identified as Bijoy ND Cruze Omi, a pastor of Catholic Church in Khadimpara of Sadar upazila and Father Subrata Boniface Tolentino of Srimangal Christian Mission.
Nizam Uddin Choudhury, Officer-in-Charge of Shahparan Police
Station, said the pastor Bijoy ND Cruze Omi filed a general diary with the police station after receiving death threats through SMS from an unknown number over a mobile phone on Wednesday.
The message said “fill your last dream because your life is in last stage. Very soon you are going to be killed by us. Zaman Mojumdar, international GMB”. Security has been extended in the Church area and police are investigating the incident, said OC.
