Two men, arrested earlier in Dhaka, yesterday was placed on a nine-day remand in narcotics and arms cases.
The two accused are Mohammad Hossain alias Khokon and Mohamamd Rafique, both hailing from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar. They were arrested with 5-kg crystal meth worth about Tk 12.5 crore in the city.
Metropolitan Magis-trate Shahinur Rahman of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka placed Khokon and Rafique on a five-day remand in the Narcotics Control Case, while Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan put them on a four-day remand in an Arms Case.
Earlier, Khokon and Rafique were produced in the court with a 10-day remand plea for each in the two cases separately.
During a raid in the capital’s Jatrabari area on Saturday, RAB-15 officers arrested them and recovered 5kg crystal meth and a pistol with five bullets from their possession.
Two separate cases were filed against the two accused with Jatrabari Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act and the Arms Act.
