At least two persons including an activist of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samiti and Bangladesh Chhatra League were shot to death by miscreants at Raikhali union in Kaptai upazila of Rangamati district on Monday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Mongsanu Marma, 40, son of one Thoilachin Marma and a
PCJS activist, while Md Jahid, 37, worker of BCL, was son of one Arab Ali from Raikhali union.
Mongsanu Marma was also the area commander of Raikhali union unit of UPDF.
Ashraf Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Chandraghona Police Station told the news media that a gang of criminals fired randomly at Mongsanu when he along with Jahid was staying at a shop beside Bhalukia road yesterday afternoon, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
On information, a team of police went there. Further details of the incident could be known later, the OC added.
