2 persons electrocuted in Bagerhat

One Nazem Ali Shamsu, a middle aged man of Shewlabunia within Mongla port town in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he climbed the tin shed top roof of his dwelling house on Wednesday noon.
It is learnt from the locals and the family of the deceased that a live electricity line was torn and fell on the tin shed top roof of the house and the tin was electrified without the knowledge of the inmates. On the day of occurrence at about 12 am when the ill-fated man climbed the tin shed top roof he was electrocuted. Then the main switch of the house was shut down, the man was recovered unconscious and was rushed to Mongla Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Another report states that Al-Amin (26), a van puller and son of one Adil Matobbor of village Joka within Daibanjahati Union Parishad under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district was electrocuted when he, some how, touched a live but loosened electricity wire on a road of the village on Tuesday.
It is alleged that a few days ago the electricity wire was loosened on the road due to stormy wind. The matter was brought to the notice of the concerned department repeatedly by one Siddique Hawladar of the local bazar. But no step was taken to solve the problem by the authorities concerned and as a result of it the van puller met his tragic end. This created a strong resentment was created among the locals.
