2 passengers killed, one injured in Gafargaon train robbery

At least two passengers were killed and one injured during a robbery on the roof of a Jamalpur-bound commuter train
The incident was reported from Mymensingh’s Gafargaon train station on Thursday night at 9 pm, confirmed GRP.
The deceased have been identified as Nahid (40) son of Md. Wahid Miah in Jamalpur town and Farook ( 42) in Jamalpur.
Meanwhile, Rubel Mia (22), survived and is undergoing treatment at the 250-bed general hospital in Jamalpur.
GRP in Gafargaon said that robbers climbed on top of the Dewanganj-bound train from Mymensingh’s Gafargaon station.
They attacked three people on the roof of the train when they tried to stop them from taking their cash and their mobile phones.
The attackers first stabbed Nahid and Faruque and then attacked Rubel before getting off the train near Kewatkhali Rail Bridge in Mymensingh town, GRP OC Sohel added.
According to Railway and GRP, a passenger reported to the security personnel when they saw blood dripping on their train window and the station master found all three injured on top of the train.
Around 10 pm when the train reached Jamalpur Station, GRP rushed the 3 severely injured passengers to Jamalpur General Hospital , where the duty doctors declared Nahid and Farook. The bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy. Efforts are on to nab robbers GRP said.
