Two painters died of electrocution and another was injured at a CNG filling station in the district town on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Elahi, 20, son of Abdus Sobhan of Khamarkandi village in Sadar upazila, and Ashraful Islam, 25, son of Bulu Miah of the same village, while the injured was Shakil, 30, son of Abu Jafar of Nishindara village of the upazila.
Sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station Harun-or-Rashid said Elahi, Ashraful and Shakil suffered injuries as they came in contact with a live electric wire while painting ‘Sharif CNG Filling Station’ at Charmatha in the town around 5:30pm.
They were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Elahi and Ashraful dead.
