N'ganj 7-murder: 2 more RAB officials testify

Two more Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officials testified before a local court on Wednesday over the sensational seven-murder incident.
Judicial Magistrate Saiduzzaman Sharif recorded the statements of
deputy assistant directors Mohammad Selim Khan and Aitar Rahman under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Selim was posted at Adamjee RAB-11 head office while Atiar at Crime Prevention Special Company of the unit during the abduction and killings of seven people.
Officer-in-charge of Narayanganj Detective Branch of police Mamunur Rashid Mondal, also investigation officer of two cases filed in connection with the incident, said the two Rab officials had been in charge of assigning duties during the seven murders.
They told the court about how many Rab men were on duty with sacked Major Arif Hossain and Lt Command MM Rana during the abduction and killings of the seven people.
On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and his three associates and driver were abducted from Fatullah area in Narayanganj city. At the same time, senior lawyer of the Narayanganj District Judge’s Court, Chandan Kumar Sarker, and his driver were abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.
Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan, were recovered from the Shitalakhya and Dhaleshwari rivers on April 30. Besides, the body of Jahangir, the car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the Shitalakhya River on May 1.
