Two most modernized tug boats each weighing 70 tones will be added to Mongla Sea Port very soon in order to make the Port more viable and dynamic, it is learnt from a source of the port authorities. A ship building company of Hongkong will build the tug boats. In this connection an agreement was signed with Mopngla Port authrities in the misitry of Water Transport affair on Thursday.
On this connection Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Bangladesh Water Transport affair was present as the chief guest. Besides this, Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury, Sereary of Water Transport affair, Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, Chairman of Mongla Sea Port authorities and Md. Ruhul Amin, chairman of Banladesh unit of Hongkong based Chewla Ship Building Company were present.
Through this agreement an epoch making evednt is going to be materialized in the history of Mongla Sea Port, it was told by Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, Chairman of the port authorities just after the copletion of the agrgeement. These two tug boats (to be build) will be installed with all Japnise and European ultramodernized machinaries. They will have the capacity to birthing and toying operation of any big foreign ship after its arrival at the port. They will have also the capacity to extinguish fire incident if takes place in foreign water vessel and the cargo.
