In Cox’Bazar, at least two people were killed and 10 others seriously injured during a clash due to land dispute between two groups of people in Pekua upazila of Cox’Bazar on Saturday noon.
Local sources said, a clash started between two rival groups led by Mamtaj member and Alamgir to grab a piece of land.
The deceased were identified as Md. Aziz, 30, son of one Md. Jahangir Alam from Ward No-3 of the upazila and Md. Nezam Uddin, 40, son of Abdur Rahman from the same upazila.
Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pekua Police Station told the media that two persons from the two sides were shot dead and eight fire arms recovered from the spot.
