Two persons were killed in lightning at Dakkhin Shatkakra and Bandho Dhatua villages in Sreebordi Upazila of Sherpur district on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Alam Mia, 40, son of Sultan Mia from Shatkakra village and Lalu Mia, 42, son of Md Shamsul Alam from Bandho Dhatua in Sreebordi Upazila of the district.
Sources said, Alam Mia was standing under a tree and Lalu Mia was cutting paddy when it was raining in the morning. Suddenly a thunderbolt hit them. They were injured seriously. People hurriedly took them to Sreebordi Upazila Health Complex and the doctor on duty declared them dead.
ASI Md. Rafiq Mia of Sreebordi thana confirmed it.
