Two persons were killed in separate incidents at different places in the district yesterday.
The victims were identified as Shafiqur Rahman, 70, hailed from Sitakundu upazila and an unidentified body aged about 56 recovered from a lake at Mozzartaq area under Patiya upazila yesterday.
Police recovered an unidentified floating body of an elderly man from a lake of Mozzartaq area under Patiya upazila of the district at 8 am today.
“The body bears no mark of injury and it was sent to the morgue for autopsy”, police said.
Police outpost sources at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) said an elderly man was injured after hitting by pick-up at Kumira area on Dhaka – Chittagong-Cox’s bazaar under Sitakundu upazila of the district around 10.30 am.
The injured was rushed to CMCH where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Two separate cases were filed with respective police stations in these connections.
