Two persons were killed in separate accidents in the city on Wednesday.
Police said motorcycle rider Mohammad Jamal Uddin, 50, and his wife Nilu Akter, 39, received severe injuries when a Chattogram-bound passenger bus hit their motorcycle on Shah Amanat Bridge on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway under city’s Bakalia thana around 7:00am yesterday.
Locals brought them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the attending doctors declared Jamal’s dead. In another incident, CNG-run three wheeler driver Mohammad Alam, 35, received serious injuries when a lorry crushed his vehicle on Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury flyover. Alam was rushed to the CMCH but the duty doctors declared him dead after the admission, the sources added.
