Two people were killed and over fifty injured in a clash between two groups of people in Itna upazila of Kishoreganj district on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Badal Mia, 45, son of Nur Hossain of Prajarkanda village, and Mirash Ali, 70, of Shantipur village in Mriga union under the upazila.
Locals sources said people of the two villages had been at loggerheads for long time over various issues.
Some people of Shantipur village beat up Ataur of Prajarkanda village during a local arbitration on on Friday night.
Later, people of two village equipped with local weapons locked into a clash in Andhair area around 9 am on Saturday that left two people dead on the spot and more than fifty people injured.
Itna Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Murshed Jaman said additional police were deployedin the area to avert any kind of untoward incident.
