2 killed in incidents

Two drivers of a Human-hauler (Laguna) and an auto-rickshaw were stabbed and hacked to death respectively by two separate gang of muggers in the city’s Mirpur and the capital’s outskirts Savar areas early Sunday, police said.
Quoting the witnesses, Pallabi Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiduzzaman confirmed the matter and said that a gang of unidentified miscreants attacked Hasan, driver of Human-hauler with sharp weapons and stabbed him at Mirpur-12 around 4:30am. Critically injured Hasan was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH)
where the on-duty doctors declared him dead at 7:45am. Hasan was son of Abdul Mannan, resident of Mirpur-12, the police official said.
A case was registered in this connection, the OC said.
In another incident, a driver of an auto-rickshaw was hacked to death by a group of muggers in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, early Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Ahsan Ali, son of Mohsin Ali, inhabitant of Kushtia district, police said.
Quoting the Savar Model Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Ashish Kumar Sannyal said that some armed miscreants got into Ahsan Ali’s auto-rickshaw in the guise of passengers and were trying to snatch away his auto-rickshaw at Savar Bank Town around 3:00am. They hacked Ahsan when he obstructed them at a stage. Muggers also snatched away cash of Tk one thousand and a mobile set from him. Ahsan rushed to the DMCH and on-duty doctor declared him dead. But, Savar Model Police Station’s OC said that the matter was not known to him.
