At least two persons were killed in two separate road crashes in the city’s Green Road and Gulistan areas on Tuesday morning. The deceased have been identified as Junayed Hossain, 22, from Netrokona district, and Jesmin Akhter, 18, police said.
Quoting the witnesses, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital’s (DMCH) Police Outpost in-charge Mozammel Haq said that Junayed was killed when a
speedy truck rammed into the human hauler carrying him around 6:30am, leaving him critically injured on the city’s Green Road. He was rushed to the DMCH. The on-duty doctor declared him dead. The body has been sent to the DMCH’s morgue for autopsy.
In another accident, Jesmin Akter was killed after a car had knocked her down in the city’s Gulistan area in the morning, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to DMCH. The on-duty doctors declared her dead, the police official said.
The body would be handed to the relatives after autopsy at DMCH, he added.
