Two persons were killed on the spot and two others including a woman patient were seriously injured when a speeding truck bound for Pirojpur collided head on with a battery run passenger rickshaw and an ambulenc carrying a serious patient on Bagerhat-Pirojpur local Highway at Baitpur-Badamtala, about two kilometes off Bagehat bus terminal on Monday at about 12 am.The deceaseds were identified as rickshaw puller Lutfar Rahman (55) hailed from Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district and rickshaw passenger Delwar Hossain (48) hailed from the same Upazila and the injured persons are Najma (32), a serious patient and her sister Nargis (35). They were going to Khulna Medical College Hospital from Patharghata Upazila in Barguna district for a serious operation there.
It is learnt from the police and the locals that the ill-fated rickaw was coming towards Bagerhat district twon and the ill-fated ambulance was going to Khulna Medical College Hospital carrying a serious patient and when the both vehicles reached the place of occurrennce the killer truck that was coming from the opposoit direction collide on with the rickshaw and then it dashed the ambulance violently.
