One person was killed and three others were injured in a tropical storm that lashed various area of Rajnagor Upazila in Moulvibazar district on Thursday.
Other hand, heavy rain and hail storms hit Hakaluki Haor damaging crops .
The deceased was identified as Monfar Ali, 75, resident of Sunatiki village of the upazila. Witnesses said Monfar was injured as hailstorms swept through paddy field near Sunatiki village of Hakaluki haor in the Upazila when he was returning home from Rajnagor upazila with Kadar Ali, 45, Taslim, 34 and Kayum, 42 of same village.
The injured were admitted to Upazila health complex. On duty doctor declared him dead. Seriously injured Monfar Ali was admitted to Rajnagor Health complex. Local Union chairman Satir Ali confirmed the matter to The New Nation.
Monirampur (Jessore) Correspondent adds: About one thousand houses, educational institutions and a good number of trees were damaged in the storm that lashed the district recently.
