Two passengers of a locally assembled nosiman were killed on the spot and four persons including the drivers of both nosiman and pick up van sustained severe injury in a road accident at Patibila under Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Amjad Hossain, 35, of Chandpara village in Kotchandpur and Amir Hossain Khan, 33, of Chhotoghighati village of Kaliganj upazila.
Locals and police said, the pickup van was marching towards Kotchandpur and the nosiman towards Kaliganj upazila. At about 8.30 in the morning, when both the vehicles arrived near Patibila on Kaliganj-Kotchandpur road, met head on collusion leaving two dead on the spot.
Kaliganj police officer in charge Aminul Islam said, they recovered the bodies of the two and sent to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem examination. The injured including the drivers of both nosiman and pick up van were rushed to Kaliganj upazila health complex. The police was processing to file case in this regard, OC said.
