Two people, including a woman, were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Batar Amtala on Jessore-Magura road in Bagharpara upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Salma Salahuddin Sheli, 35, wife of Zahid Hossain, a resident of Hazipara in Agrabad area of Chittagong and Prakash Majumder, 32, hailing from Dhaka.
Officer-in-Charge of Bagharpara Police Station Chhoiruddin said a Benapole-bound bus of ‘Green Line Paribahan’
from Chittagong collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in the area at around 7:30 am, leaving the duo, both passenger of the bus, dead on the spot and 10 people injured.
The injured were admitted to Jessore Medical College Hospital.
