Two minor girls drowned in a pond of Amira-Mandalpara village in Khetlal upazila on Tuesday.
Minha Akhter, 2, daughter of Milon Hossain, and Bushra Akhter, 3, daughter of Yusuf Ali, an imam of a local mosque, slipped into the pond around 4pm dodging eyes of the family members, met the watery burial.
After a frantic search, locals found them floating in the pond and took them to the upazila health complex where doctors declared the two kids dead.
