Two minor girls drowned in a pond at Dhakar Para village in Panchbibi upazila on Tuesday afternoon. Muktar Hossain, union parisad chairman of Kusumba union, said Sima Akhter, 5, daughter of Sabuj Miah, and Rupa Pervin, 6, daughter of Rocky Hossain, slipped into the pond around 4pm and met the tragic end of their lives. Later, locals found them floating in the pond and took them to the upazila health complex where doctors declared the two dead.
