A court here on Tuesday placed two members of Jama’at-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a 10-day remand in connection with the snatching of three convicted JMB militants from a prison van in Trishal upazila.
Judge Ahsan Habib of the 3rd Cognisance Court passed the order when police produced them before his court in the case filed with Bhaluka Police Station.
The two JMB members are Rasel and Zakaria, driver of the microbus seized from Sakhipur of Tangail with arms, ammunition and bombs.
Miscreants snatched the three convicted JMB members-Rakib Hasan Russel,
Boma Mizan and Salahuddin-from a prison van killing a policeman at Signboard in Trishal on February 23.
However, one of the snatched JMB men-Rakib Hasan Russel-and Zakaria and Rasel were held hours later. Rakib was killed in a gunfight with police in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail the following day.
