Two local Jubo League activists were killed and another was injured as their motorbike hit a roadside tree near Jalchira bridge in Mongla upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Kamruzzaman Saikat, 23, son of Shahadat Hossain and Shovon Hossain Babu, 24, son of Alamgir Hossain, a resident of Mongla municipality area.
Md Lutfar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mongla Police Station, said the motorcycle hit the tree after its rider lost control around 11am while they were returning after attending aa
political programme, marking the Victory Day, leaving three critically injured. The injured were taken to upazila health complex where doctors declared Saikat and Shovon dead. Another injured Rony was taken to Khulna Medica College Hospital.
