2 JCD men hurt in BCL attack

Two local activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were injured in an attack by the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Pathantula Jalalabad area of the city on Thursday.
The victims were identified as Palash, 24, son of Abdul Majid, and Sumon Ahmed, 25; both of them are activists of Mizan group-a faction of the city unit Chhatra Dal.
Witnesses said, a group of Chhatra League activists swooped on them while they were returning home after visiting a patient at Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Hospital at about 5:00 pm.
The BCL activists beat them up mercilessly,
leaving them critically injured.
At one stage, the attackers cut off a finger of Palash and injured Sumon by stabbing in various parts of his body.
They snatched away valuables, including mobile phone sets and some money, from the victims.
Bing informed, police visited the spot.
