At least two girls were raped in the city and Savar on Thursday and Friday morning.
Police also arrested a man in this connection, police sources said.
In the capital, a teenage girl has been raped after her arrival in Dhaka from Mymensingh ‘with a friend’.
The 13-year-old girl was rescued from a slum near Tejgaon Railway line on Friday morning, said Tejgaon Police OC Md Mazharul Islam.
“The girl said that her friend Al Amin had raped her.” She has been taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for a medical checkup. She came to the capital with her friend on Thursday, said OC Majharul, quoting the victim.
“They first went to Kamalapur. She could not properly recall how she landed in Tejgaon.”
“We are trying to contact the girl’s parents,” said the OC. “A case will be filed soon.” At Savar, a five grade madrasa girl was raped by her neighbour at Ashulia in the afternoon on Thursday.
Police arrested rapist Sohel, 26, hailing from Jamalpur Sadar, said Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mustafa Kamal.
Victim’s mother said that she went out for work on Thursday morning leaving her daughter alone at home and she found her in a critical condition after returning home at night.
According to the victim, she said Sohel entered my house at noon and raped my daughter after tying hands and gagging her mouth.
“It was awful when I saw my daughter’s bleeding. She was studying when I left for work,” she added.
Later, victim’s mother rushed to local union board chairman and informed the incident to Ashulia police station.
We sent her to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, the police official said.
Police arrested the accused Sohel and a case has been lodged in this connection, he said.
