Miscreants injured a man and his nephew entering a mosque at Bhaijora Sikdarbari in Sadar upazila on Thursday night, which, police suspect, followed forbidding gambling in the area.
Abdul Mazid, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said a group of miscreants stormed a local mosque after Esha prayer and stabbed Bachchu Shikdar and his nephew Nazmul Huda indiscriminately around 8:30 pm, leaving them injured.
Later they were rushed to Sadar Hospital.
Police suspected that the miscreants attacked the two as they forbade a group of locals from continuing gambling in the area, said the OC.
