Chittagong district police arrested an alleged human trafficker from Saral Bazar area under Banshkhali upazila of the district early Saturday.
The arrestee was identified as Jaker Ahmed, 40, a Union Parisad member of Gondamara Union of Banshkhali upazila. Naimul Hasan, additional superintendent of police (ASP) of Chittagong district confirmed the matter.
Naimul said the detainee was a suspected human trafficker in the district.
Another reports adds: Cox’s Bazar: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members have arrested suspected top human trafficker in the district.
The trafficker is identified as Abdullah Bidyut who is also Jubo League president of Khuniapalong union of Ramu Upazila. Deputy director of RAB-7 AH Mohiuddin said Bidyut, son of Mohammad Ferdous of Dhoapalong of Khuniapalong, was arrested from Laldighi Par at 4:00pm on Saturday. He also said a case was filed against him on charges of human trafficking with Teknaf thana. Bidyut was also accused in several cases filed for various allegations.
