Police in a drive arrested two bus passengers with 180 bottles of phensidyl from Badhon Petrol Pump area of Gobindaganj upazila town here early on Wednesday.
Sources familiar with the drive said acting on a tip-off, a team of Gobindaganj police station halted a bus of Dhaka bound Hanif Paribohon coming from Dinajpur in the area around 1.35am and searched it.
At one stage, police found the bottles of phensidyl worth of Tk 1.25 lakh kept in a luggage of two passengers.
Later, two passengers – Arman Sonu, 37, from Golahar Koborsthan Gate under Saidpur Thana in Nilphamary district and Murad, 36 from Rosulpur of same thana – were arrested.
A case was filed in this regard.
