Customs Intelligence in a drive seized around two KGs of gold and Indian 75 lakh rupees from the city’ Hazrat Shahjalal Internation Airport (HSIA) on Monday. They also arrested two persons in this connection. They have been identified as Bashir Ahmed,
and Md Ashrafuddin, 50, a Pakistani national, customs sources said.
Customs Intelligence Joint-Commissioner Kazi Muhammad Zia Uddin said that Bashir Ahmed arrived in the airport from Dubai, UAE at about 11:00am with gold.
On the other hand, Ashraf was held for carrying Indian rupees 75 lakh while crossing the green channel. He arrived in Dhaka from Bangkok.
A case has been filed in this connection.
